About

Elena Kotasvili is a visual artist. She has studied fine art at Middlesex University in London in 2008. She is now based in Cyprus.
Her interests span the spectrum of the performing arts and performance art, and can be located within the spaces of theatre and stage design crossing the borders into installation art. Her practice revolves around ideas related to mechanisms of established structures in art, their contradictions and limitations, and to natural landscape and intermediality. Elena Kotasvili has participated in art exhibitions and festivals both nationally and internationally.
Since 2013 she has been collaborating with visual artist Alexis Vayianos, and they are the co-founders of CATHRINE, an art organisation that encourages cross-discipline art projects and unlooked-for collaborations.
